Kai DeMarsico, M.Ed., CTRS (they/she)
Director of Behavioral & Clinical Services
Kai DeMarsico brings over 15 years of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries across direct support, day services, inpatient geriatric psychiatry, and clinical leadership. They have twice built non-ABA clinical departments from the ground up, including intake systems, referral workflows, clinical rounds, and documentation standards. Kai’s expertise spans behavior support plan authoring, Human Rights Committee submission and review, interagency coordination across New Hampshire area agencies, crisis support, clinical supervision, and staff training design. Their background is deliberately eclectic, built on the conviction that understanding how a person functions and communicates requires learning from wherever that understanding lives rather than from a single discipline.
At HopeWay, Kai leads behavioral and clinical services, authoring behavior support plans, guiding Human Rights Committee review, supervising clinical staff, and building affirming practice into how teams are trained and supported. Their work treats behavior as communication and adaptive response, and holds every support to a simple standard: it should make sense for the person, not just for the system around them.
Kai holds a Master’s in Advanced Education from the University of the People and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management, Therapeutic Recreation, from the University of New Hampshire, and is a National Certified Recreational Therapist. Their designed and facilitated trainings include Trauma-Informed Clinical Supports, Trauma-Informed Crisis Support Strategies, and DEI in Communication.
